Wet and wild otters
Grateful for their liquid world
Tread into its depths

Gliding silently
Steering with slender rudders
In a search for bliss

Meeting and greeting
Leaping and pirouetting
Dancers of the deeps

I love the otters and the poetry that goes along. Thanks for reminding us that nature still goes.
You are welcome! Yes, life does go on.
These are marvelous Siobhan and the Haiku is beautiful. We lived on Otter Island Road for 20 years. In all that time I only ever saw one otter. Either they’re very elusive or our street was definitely named wrong LOL.
Thanks, Tina. Sorry you didn’t get to see them very often on Otter Island Road.
I love otters… thanks for this delightful treat!
You’re welcome! They are delightful.
Wonderful animals, and so beautifully depicted too!
Thanks! They are very entertaining creatures. 😁
What a wonderful sighting. They look similar in size to our Cape clawless otters. Am guessing they are Northern river otters?
Yes, those are Northern river otters at the High Desert Museum. Always fun to watch!
Oooh, so lovely!!
Thank you, Amy!
