Brews & views, Ferment Brewing Company: OLWG, FOWC, WOTD

Ferment Brewing Company, in Hood River, Oregon, is a nice warm place for brews & views. I made it appear even warmer by using a warming filter in the photo below. The big tanks below are actually silver but I thought they looked great in gold! 😀

Ferment Brewing Company

Ferment opened here in 2018. They fuse traditional farmhouse brewing techniques with a modern touch. The brewmaster, Dan Peterson, has a degree in Microbiology and Molecular Genetics and uses his scientific knowledge to create unique brews.

The fermenting theme is also featured in some of their food offerings. If you browse the menu, you’ll find fermented foods such as sauerkraut and kimchi, but fermentation is also in more unexpected offerings, like kombucha ketchup.

Their tasting room is decorated in a modern, industrial style, with lots of symmetry. It’s a comfortable spot to share a meal and a drink.

Warm wood compliments straight lines of black metal.

The symmetry continues at the bar. Everything is stored neatly in place.

They serve a nice variety of beer, wine, cider, kombucha, cocktails, mocktails, and non-alcoholic drinks. They also have canned and bottled drinks to enjoy now or later.

Since the tasting room is upstairs near the shores of the Columbia River, you can get some great brews & views at this brewery. You can probably see why that’s one of my favorites in Hood River.

brews & views

We were there during an Association of Wind Water Sports Industries event so there was a lot of action on the river. I’m grateful we live a relatively short drive away from the scenic city of Hood River.

  1. These are great photos, and it sounds like a fascinating place to visit! There was a brewery like this where I lived in upstate New York, but I only went there for lunch, never got to see this much behind-the-scenes.

    • Thanks, The views are great inside and out! My cousin lives in upstate New York. I wonder if he knows of the place you mentioned.
