Sounds of wild creatures, the large and the small,
Pulling our attention, leaving us enthralled
Small Black-throated Sparrows pause and perch high
Singing unforgettable melodies to deep azure skies
Large Wild Turkeys graze and promenade
Chortling calls rise, then fall in cascades
Small Golden-mantled Ground Squirrels scurry and skitter
Chirping alarms in short and sharp chitters
Golden-mantled Ground Squirrel alarm call
Large Rocky Mountain elk forage and wander
Bugling refrains, piercing and somber
Sounds of wild creatures, the large and the small,
Leaving fond memories of places we recall

Your furry and feathery snaps are quite amazing 🙂
Thanks so much, Hammad!
Beautiful sounds in your photos, Siobhan.
Thanks, Egidio. Glad you could “hear” what I was saying. 🙂
Lovely poem to pull us into your National Park visits, Siobhan. I love the bugle of elk. It tells me it is autumn. Just like many song birds remind us of spring. And the gobbles…well they don’t last long around Thanksgiving. Just kidding. I love the sparrow in the azure skies.
Thanks, Donna! Picturing sound was challenging but fun.
