I saw this beautiful Western Tiger Swallowtail on a penstemon flower in my front yard recently. We try to plant flowers that attract bees, butterflies, and other pollinators. We’ve seen LOTS of butterflies this year.

This has been a big year for Swallowtails around us, but the eruption of Monarchs from last year has kind of petered out as those have been few and far between – last year they were everywhere!
Good to know it’s a good year for swallowtails there too. Our milkweed are blooming, but no Monarchs here.
