Forest fire ahead: Monochrome Monday

The smoke from a forest fire ahead of us near Crane Prairie Reservoir was an eerie sight to see. The nearby Cedar Creek Fire reached a size of 127,311 acres and burned for three months. Once wet fall weather moved into the area, the fire was finally contained.

  1. Fire is one of those ying/yang elements – adds a lot of nice drama to our shots, but the downside is they can destroy whatever you are trying to photograph! Really like the converging lines and the added mystery effect.

    • Yes, the smoke can create mystery and drama, but also fear. This fire was in a sparsely populated area. We were glad when it was finally controlled in the fall.
