The fanciful creatures you could imagine from a dead tree often got me scared as a child.
When we were trimming trees on our property years ago, my daughter asked us to cut down one of them. It was a dead snag that looked like it had “arms.” She called it the “ghost tree” and it scared her. We were worried it would blow down in a wind storm so we followed her wishes.
She must have been so grateful!
