astonishment: LAPC

I draw in a breath in a moment of astonishment

when viewing artwork, delicate yet strong

astonishment

And when seeing string sculptures scattered around a winter garden

Japanese garden in winter

I gasp with excitement

when two fine drakes line up perfectly for my lens

2 wood ducks

And when viewing a peaceful place in the center of a bustling city

Lan Su Chinese Garden

I draw in a breath in a moment of astonishment

when tasting a marvelous blend of spicey and smooth, cilantro and coconut

Ceviche de alcachofa

And when seeing architectural wonders paying homage to trees

  1. Thank you responding to the challenge with this beautiful post! Your images are amazing. I really like the variety of things that astonish your. You must have been patient to be able get the two drakes facing each other.

    • Thanks, Beth! I took all the pictures on my trip to Portland, Oregon last weekend. I got lucky capturing the two Wood Ducks face to face. 😁

    • Thank you, John! Yes, that piece of art in my first photo was stunning. The last time I visited Lan Su Chinese Garden (the peaceful place) it was pouring down rain and packed with people. This time it was much more peaceful!
