There are many differences in nature.
Skies…
May be foggy and humid near ocean beaches,
Or sprinkled with clouds over an arid land.
Water…
May pound down mountainsides in narrow waterfalls,
Or meander calmly past playas, dry and broad.
Rocks…
May be rough and covered with layers of lichen and moss,
Or polished by volcanic forces into a glasslike sheen.
Animals…
May wear coats with radiating patterns of soft fur,
Or an armor of spiny scales, protecting them from predators.
From sweeping landscapes to tiny reptiles, contrasting differences in nature draw our attention and make us search for more amazing sights.

Siobhan, you picked such great contrast examples. Beautiful photos!
Thanks so much, Egidio! 🙂
Gorgeous Oregon photos. Love the one at Ecola State Park :D
Thank you, Cee! We hoped to see the Tillamook Lighthouse on that trip, but it was too foggy. Makes for great pictures though.
Amazing contrasts of nature through your lens, Siobhan! These landscape images are breathtaking. The ocean beach is like a beautiful painting. I love the contrasts of the huge rocks vs obsidian. Great photos!
Thank you, Amy! I had fun finding photos where the subject matter contrasted. Little reminder... I screen all my comments first and don't always get to them right away. I always appreciate your comments! :D
Beautifully shown and said Siobhan. Loved the mountain image and the waterfalls. The kitten image is really amazing and perfectly contrasted!
Thanks, Tina! I showed some of my favorite places. My cat is always ready for her close up.
Beautiful photos and great contrasts. You nailed it.
Thank you, John! I decided to show contrasting images instead of contrasts within images.
This was well thought out and a creative capture on the challenge. The words bring it together. I liked the shift from the mossy rocks to obsidian. You almost caught me on the lizard. Blends right in. Outstanding post.
Thanks, Donna! Yeah, I liked the rocks too. We almost didn't see the lizard, hiding in plain sight at one of our favorite rock collecting sites. 🙂
Nice pictures makes me wish I were there.
Thanks! Let's to see here. 🙂
What a perfect response to this challenge theme! You're so right about the amazing contrasts to be found in nature :D I especially love the shot of Tumalo Falls, looks like a stunning place!
Thanks, Sarah! The falls were beautiful and they're close to town.
Amazing contrasts. Love the Summer Lake one!
Thanks, Sofia! Summer Lake has many contrasting habitats, great for photos.
Such beautiful photos, Siobhan.
Thank you Egidio! As you know, nature has many interesting contrasts, just waiting to be photographed.
