Nature

Differences in nature: LAPC

There are many differences in nature.

Skies…

May be foggy and humid near ocean beaches,

Indian Beach, Ecola State Park, Oregon

Or sprinkled with clouds over an arid land.

Steens Mountain summit, Oregon

Water…

May pound down mountainsides in narrow waterfalls,

Tumalo Falls, Oregon

Or meander calmly past playas, dry and broad.

Playa at Summer Lake, Oregon

Rocks…

May be rough and covered with layers of lichen and moss,

Crack-in-the-Ground, Oregon

Or polished by volcanic forces into a glasslike sheen.

Obsidian at Glass Buttes, Oregon

Animals…

May wear coats with radiating patterns of soft fur,

Pixie-bob cat, Oregon

Or an armor of spiny scales, protecting them from predators.

Greater short-horned lizard, near Boysen State Park, Wyoming

From sweeping landscapes to tiny reptiles, contrasting differences in nature draw our attention and make us search for more amazing sights.
