Today I have the honor of serving as guest host for the Lens-Artist Photo Challenge. The prompt this week is glowing moments.
One of my earliest memories is of me sitting cross-legged in a darkened closet, awestruck by the glow cast from a jarful of lightning bugs. Though I don’t have pictures of that magical moment, I have captured many glowing moments since then.
A High Desert sunset glows with fiery colors.
While the rising moon shines in subdued tones.
Purple lupine flowers shine on a cool spring morning.
While yellow prickly pear cactus flowers absorb and radiate the warmth of summer.
A woman’s gentle smile glows in a room full of cool, blue lights.
While a young boy beams a smile on a warm sunlit day.
Pale fireworks cascade and scatter across dark skies.
While I gaze in awe at their fleeting light, like the lightning bugs of long ago.
What glowing moments have been special in your life? Please share them in the comments. I’m looking forward to your interpretations of this prompt! 😀
Be sure to link your contributions to this post and include the lens-artist tag.
Many thanks to the regular team of Tina, Donna, Patti, Sofia, Amy, John, Anne, and Ann-Christine and the many guest hosts of this challenge. Your thoughtful prompts have inspired so many of us to share magical moments we have captured with our various lenses.
Special thanks to Donna, of Wind Kisses, for her “It’s Tricky” prompt last week. Many of you came up with fun “tricky” photos, including reflections, double exposures, artistic effects, changing the lighting, and offering a different perspective. It’s great to think outside the box sometimes.
Next week, Tina, of Travels and Trifles, will offer the prompt so be sure to visit her site and see her amazing photos.

Great theme and photos!
Thank you, John! :D
I love this so much, Siobhan. I can picture you with that jarful of lightening bugs. That sentence defines who you are ( at least the person I know through your blogging). You gave us lots of ways to travel through this prompt and I am going to work on it today. Thank you for joining us. The responses will be fun and varied. I love your fiery sunset, your moon rise, and how the rest is reflective of your life. Donna
Thanks so much, Donna! Yes, the close connection I have with nature began when I was a young child. I hope to see a lot of variety in the responses. :D
You will, and you’ll love the love. I started on one direction and went off on a tangent. Lol. A glowing moment. Thanks again for the inspiration.
❤
I love this challenge and your photos, Siobhan. Your sunset is magical and the little boy's smile definitely glows with happiness. Thank you so much for hosting!

Thank you, Sofia! I look forward to seeing everyone's responses. :)
Nice theme. I love that yellow of the cactus.
Thanks, Dawn! A special plant with long-lasting flowers in our garden.
This is such a great theme Siobhan. And wonderful images too. They've given me a lot of ideas, but right now my family is glowing with the preparations for my granddaughter's wedding. Mine might be a two-parter.
Thanks, Anne! Sounds as though you will have many glowing moments very soon. Congrats! Two parts is fine - the more the merrier. :D
interesting and wonderful choice of images you have chosen for the challenge, I especially like the 1st and 5th.

Thanks, Paul! 🙂
Loved your challenge Siobhan, as well as your post. I especially liked how many different types of examples you shared. My favorite it the little boy but they're all wonderful. Thanks again for leading us this week!
Thanks so much, Tina! It was fun to come up with a challenge with many interpretations. The two people pictured are my kids, both adults now. 🙂
Nice photos.
I like the variation on display here. It's a pleasant thematic connection that works well with all differing light levels.
