A dusting of snow accentuates
sculptures created by the wind
And softens rough edges
of twisting structures
A dusting of snow
muffles the calls of nature
And softens footfalls
while drawing our eyes to the skies

What a great subject for the challenge... snow is soft and you've captured soft snow beautifully xx
Thank you, Bren! I hope we see more in the next few weeks.
The weathermen and MSM keep saying we are going to get a 'Polar Vortex', 'Beast from the East II', 'artic weather and temperatures'. And guess what .... all we get is wind and rain. :D :D :D
Sometimes I think they're just guessing. ;)
Most definitely... even the apps can't stay up-to-date.🤣🤣 BBC App says sunshine and it pouring down 🤣🤣
Excellent. Love the first wind-blown.
Thanks, John! I took that one right outside my door. :)
Been lucky so far since getting back from Texas, the snow has stayed away for the most part - the downside is we do not get to witness the pretty accents your shots reveal.
Yeah, it's nice not to have to drive in snow. We need a lot more in the mountains here to avoid drought later. ❄🤞
Lovely poem and photos that speak the words so well.
Thanks so much, Suzy!
Your snowy shots are perfect for this challenge - I love the one with the dove in particular.
Thanks, Sarah! More snow is on the way here. ❄
Lovely softness. 😊
Thank you! One of the good things about snow.
Bring softness indeed. Love the words to mimic the reason for the photos. Very nice.
Thank you, Donna!
enjoyed the muffled and serene vibe in your snowy/nature photos
Thanks! I love how snow quiets the noise of the world.
:)
Wonderful.
Thank you! :D
May be my favorite post you've done Siobhan. Everything about it is wonderful. Your verse is perfectly matched to your images - and the image of the bird on the tree stump would definitely be framed on my walls! Gorgeous post from start to finish
Wow! Thanks so much, Tina. The Ring-necked Doves nest in our backyard so we see, and hear, them often. 🙂
