Every year at harvest time,
trees wait patiently,
standing in line
Leaves fluttering in the breeze
reveal ripening fruit,
dark in color and intensely sweet
Sturdy branches reach for the sky
burdened with fruit
until the leaves wither and die
Every year at harvest time,
trees drop their fruit
in irregular designs

Pictures in this post were taken at Mt. View Orchards in Parkdale, Oregon. This 51-acre orchard offers 125 varieties of pears and apples. They also offer many other types of fruit, vegetables, and ornamental flowers. This page lists what you can get by the month of the year.
You can pick what you want or buy things in their store. I last visited the orchards in October 2026, during harvest time.
But wait… there’s more! They have a tasting room on site where you can taste their wines, ciders, and microbrew beers.
Mt. View Orchards has great views of nearby Mt. Hood. It’s available to rent as a wedding or special occasion venue.
