Driving through…
Big rock mountains, sculpted and fired by the sun
And ranges, arising from basins washed by summer storms
Approaching cliffs layered with basalt flows preserving stories of their past
And volcanic hills, pounded by thundering hooves and eroded by falling rain
Driving through…
The warm comforting embrace of oak trees
And pine forests, swaying in celebration of winter’s first snowfall

These are great photos! I also love to take photos through the front window while driving. These are fabulous!
Thank you, Lisa! I just have to remember to clean off some of the smashed bugs at certain times of the year. ;)
Yes that is true! My husband has to periodically clean ours along the way!
Thanks for taking us along on these scenic drives. I love the bison in the rain.
Thank you! Yeah, it was great to see the bison so close.
Siobhan, you’ve captured my favorite way of being on the move! I love road trips, though I’m usually the one driving—so photo-taking means pulling over. The exception is our annual September/October fall trips, when my niece and her husband take the wheel. I get to relax in the back seat and snap away to my heart’s content. 😊
Yeah, we usually do road trips as well, John. I'm glad you get to take some trips without being the driver!
I second John's comment. I also love road trips. Your photos are great.
Thanks, Egidio! Yes, you can see so many things while you're driving down the road.
Loved your response this week Siobhan. It reminded me a bit of the drives my husband and I have done when we visit our kids' place in the NY countryside. Such great photo ops on drives like that, as you've clearly shown!
Thanks, Tina! Yes, you never know what sights you'll see when you hit the road. 😁
Fabulous scenery. I like Bison. You are lucky to see them
Thanks, Brian! Yeah, I'm glad I get to see bison.
I loved these glimpses through your car windscreen, they make me eager to get back on the road in the US some time soon!
Thanks, Sarah! There are many amazing sights over here.
So many beautiful views from your vehicle, what placed visit.
Thanks, Ritva! Lots of pretty sights out there.
All of your pictures make me want to hit the road - immediately! Well done!
Thank you, Ann-Christine! Glad I inspired you to take road trips in the future.
