When I looked at the pictures Iād taken at the Oregon Coast Aquarium, I thought several images were like abstracts adrift.
The northern sea otters rolled themselves up into buoyant balls.
Moon jellies fell like brilliant blue windblown blossoms.
Yellow tangs scattered like sparkling gems in an undersea canyon.
A reflection from behind gave a spotted ratfish a magical fluttering tailfin.
Pairs of fish swam together towards brighter futures.
I enjoy visiting aquariums, but this was the first time I saw so many abstracts adrift. Perhaps they have always been there, waiting to be noticed.

Lovely. I especially like the 2nd and the 3rd photos.
Thanks so much, Liz!
Excellent abstract photo captures!
Thanks, Amy! I was wondering how I could use those photos.
What a creative way to share "afloat," Siobhan! Great shots, love the lighting in the water and I especially like the Seat otter balls :)
Thanks, Terri! Yeah, those sea otters were very entertaining. :D
Lovely marine abstracts
Thanks, Brian!
There is a magical quality about many of these images Siobhan :) I especially love the moon jellies!
Thanks, Sarah! I thought they were kinda magical too. š
Great choices. We spotted some jelly fish floating in the water on a recent trip. I used them in my post.
Thanks, Kristin! The first one on your post looks like a part-way cooked poached egg. ;)
