Oh, I empathize, as do my dogs! I try to convince them that plucking seeds and burrs from their fur in "bonding time!"
Some dogs are like magnets for collecting little bits of this and that. Yes, I also try to convince her it's a bonding activity when I pick them out. If she gets pitch in her fur, I use peanut butter to break it up. She likes cleaning herself after that beauty treatment. 😁
