Aspen trees far away & up close: LAPC

Aspen trees in the fall are beautiful from far away and up close. I’m featuring autumn portraits of aspens in central and eastern Oregon.

  1. I love aspens and always enjoy coming across a group of them when riding in Wyoming, especially if there’s a bit of wind so that I can appreciate the sound of the leaves. Such a lovely sound. I particularly like your last, frosty shot. 🙂

  2. Aspens are among my favorite trees Siobhan – I love seeing them when I visit my brother in Colorado as we do not have them here in the south. perhaps that’s why I find them so special. Beyond their exceptional beauty of course!

  3. Beautiful captures of this special tree, Siobhan. Love the last image especially. The last time I saw Aspens in Rocky Mountains in fall was about three years ago… I miss it.

  4. Ahh. Aspens. Well done. I should have thought of that. I have a LOT of aspen tree photos. If it wasn’t usurped by the Blue Spruce, I think it would be our Colorado state tree.

    • Thanks! Aspen pictures are always nice. Yes, it was hard to come up with ‘a’ words. I also thought of using antlers or antiques.

  5. Lovely idea, Siobhan – and so gloriously carried out! Aspen is one of my favorite trees. Their intense glow and their moving leaves, enchanting.

  6. Aspens are one of my favorite trees, too, as I’m originally a Colorado girl. It was a dream come true for me to build my house on a ridge in the middle of an aspen grove, where they are my every day companions. Thanks for sharing!
